The Mid America Conference of Rehabilitation Teachers is an association of teachers of the adult blind in many states. AL, AR, IL, IN, KY, ME, MI, MO, MS, MC, NV, NY, OH, OK, WI are states that all have active MACRT members.


At the 2001 MACRT conference in Mobile, Alabama the MACRT Board identified a need for a MACRT website which would provide a place for MACRT members to visit for contact information, links, conference updates, and general information. This website is an answer to that need.

2010 MACRT/ASERT Professional Development Conference


MACRT wishes to promote annual conference attendance, certification of members, and education of new teachers.

Scholarship applications may be found on Scholarship page and Scholarship/Stipend page for:

  1. Anyone wishing to receive scholarships to assist in their undergraduate or graduate degree
  2. Anyone attending the MACRT conference for the first time
  3. Anyone  needing assistance in receiving their certification from the academy
